I really enjoyed reading this book. It brought back a lot of my childhood memories. I laughed and laughed. I had forgotten a lot of the things that my older sister and I had done that were so simular to Bethy and Mary. Anyone of any age will enjoy this book. Mable is a great author.
I enjoyed reading the adventures of Bethy and Mary. I grew up in that area and time. Mable brings back some of the memories that I had forgotten. I especially enjoyed the bubble gum incident on the school bus. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.
I loved this book I laughed, I cried and I was angry right along with Bethy and Mary. I think it would do a lot if young people good to read it so they could get a look at what it was like then, without all the conveniences that kids are used to today. The older people would enjoy it also because it would bring back memories of a simpler time. Great job Mable, can't wait for the next one!
I really enjoyed this book. It was so true of things that happen in Eastern KY. Glad you had it published. I spent a couple of hours laughing. I would reccommed everyone to buy this book and read it. God is good--All the time.
Growing up in the rural Appalachian mountians, thirty years ago, one can really relate to this book. The stories are pure, innocent fun! Once you start this book, you don't want to put it down! You'll want to share Mable's stories with others, just to bring a smile to their face! I'll be watching for other books by this author.
A very good book ...As I read this book I thought to myself, this is my childhood and the childhood of most everyone that grew up in the beautiful hills of Eastern Ky. Yes, times were hard and work was a way of life. Now that I look back those were certainly some of the good old days...This book brought back memories that had been asleep for many years. We now live in a time with all the up to date conveniences of this modern world. But we must ask ourselves is it a better world? My answer is Yes and No.. I loved your book Mable...
Having lived in eastern Ky my entire life, I couldn't wait to read this book....I got it at 615 and by 10 I had read it...Mable is a true story teller..having told a story so close to her heart...shared her loves and her heartaches with each of us...and left us laughing and in tears...Mary was a friend of mine...and is truly missed...Thanks Mable for taking me back in time and giving me just a little chance to live it once again...I would encourage anyone, especially young girls to read this book....there is a lesson on every page...
