When I read Rags Daniels Lallapaloosa I knew that this man is a major new crime and thriller writer. Having just finished his newest novel, Foxy Lady, I know he is.Corrupt politicians, meddling bureaucrats, financial shenanigans, murder, rape and plenty of intrigue; add a beautiful young woman named Lady Carolyne Dryden who runs the family's London policy auction house, and D.I. Reid, one of the most delightfully irascible police detectives in fiction; stir in revenge, sex and Inspector Reid who is determined to get to the bottom of all this mayhem in spite of his interfering superiors, and you have one of the best can't-put-it down novels I have read in a while. On top of that, the foxy lady Carolyne is foxy in every sense of the word: sexy, smart, not someone to be trifled with (and if you do, look out!), and very, very deadly.
Foxy Lady almost demands a sequel, and I hope Mr. Daniels writes one. If he does, I'll be sure to read it.

Political intrigue, police, murder, sex, revenge and corruption. This is a well written, gripping, fast paced read.
Lady Carolyne Dryden is one cool customer! Can DI Reide solve two murders? There are plenty of twists and turns in this book to keep you wanting to know what happens next. I didn't want to put it down. Loved it! Well worth a read...
'A roller-coaster ride' is a bit of a cliché, but it fits well with this fast-paced thriller sharp twists and unexpected turns all the way through! But no roller-coaster I know of has such dramatic temperature changes - from red-hot passion to ice-cold murder in a few paragraphs.
The writing is smooth and engaging, the characters are clearly drawn and intriguing - even if often repellent! The plot is quite topical, but then political sleaze and corruption in high places is always topical! As well as being rather worryingly believable!
I highly recommend this novel, consisting of sex (tastefully written), corruption and revenge.
My favorite character is Lady Carolyne Dryden. She is intriguing and the story took many unexpected turns.
The only reason I'm awarding this novel with four stars instead of five is because I'm an American and I had to continually search the dictionary for definitions of many words. Mr. Daniels is a British author and many of those words I looked up weren't even in my Fire dictionary. Please don't let this stop you from grabbing a copy of this thrilling novel.
